Iron Heinrich

The original story of the Frog Prince was also known as Iron Heinrich. At the end of the story, after the princess throws the frog against a wall and he turns into a handsome prince and decides to marry her (???), they ride off to get married.

Heinrich, the prince's servant, who was extremely distraught when the prince was turned into a frog, had placed three iron bands around his torso to prevent his heart from breaking. While the prince and princess were riding to the church, there was the sound of a sharp cracking from behind and the prince cried out to Heinrich in alarm.

Heinrich reassured the prince that it was only the bands around his chest that were snapping because his heart was no longer in danger of breaking from the sorrow.

And then the prince ditched the princess for someone who wouldn't throw him against a wall. The end. :U
